The Artists' Market will open it's third season on October 24, 2009 and will run through May 8, 2010., from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. It is located on the corner of Pineapple and Laurel Streets in the Historic Burns Square. Under the new management of Marcia Rabinowitz, it is attracting some of the most talented residents of Sarasota and surrounding areas.
The Market offers local artists, of all media, a place to display and sell what they create. During a visit to the Artists' Market you will be able to find jewelry, stained glass, greeting cards, handmade beads, quilts, baby items, copper home decor, hand painted angel gifts, photography, mixed media works of art, non-toxic parrot toys, potpourri, leather goods, artificial food decorations and so much more. Should you need a few minutes of relaxation, you will also find a licensed massage therapist in attendance. Local authors will also be on site to autograph and have their books available for purchase.
Currently two animal rescue groups rotate in attendance providing much needed information, as well as pets for adoption.
Marcia is committed to make the Artists' Market unique by combining community and animal rescue organizations and other non-profit groups to join the artists. Marcia's long range goal is to offer Sarasota's residents a "one of a kind experience" where they will be able to find needed community information and shop for one of a kind hand crafted items. All community groups will be able to set-up free of charge at the Artists' Market.
